Our volunteers are an important part of our Tamura community and we are committed to providing a safe school environment for our students and staff. Effective January 1, 2020, our volunteers are categorized as Level 1 or Level 2 volunteers.
Level 1: Volunteers perform less than 5 hours of Volunteer Service a week.
Requirements: Provide proof of being free of Tuberculosis with a TB Test from your medical provider.
Level 2: Volunteers perform more than 5 hours of Volunteer Service a week and can be a chaperone on Field trips.
Requirements: Provide proof of being free of Tuberculosis with a TB Test from your medical provider AND obtain LiveScan Fingerprint clearance through the Department of Justice. (The Fingerprinting form can be obtained from the school office.)
Fountain Valley School District policy and CA Education Code require all Volunteers to have a TB clearance on file in the School Health Office in order to volunteer in the class or Field Trips. TB Clearances are valid for 4 years. If you don’t have one on file or it has expired, you must provide us a valid proof prior to participating in any classroom activities or field trips. When volunteering, you must check in through the office and bring your Driver’s license or ID to sign-in using our Raptor visitor management system. You must wear the printed badge while on campus or fieldtrips while school is in session. We thank you in advance for your understanding and support of our efforts at enhancing the school safety protocols.
Thank you for stepping up and volunteering with the PTA! Your involvement helps create a positive and enriching environment for our students, and we truly appreciate your time, energy, and commitment. We couldn’t do it without you!
